Best luxury body oil. A supremely moisturising, sensorial oil infused with frangipani and monoi that doubles as a weekly hair treatment. Elemis is Climate Positive and cruelty-free, so it is a genuinely responsible prestige brand, though not the purist that a B Corp like L'Occitane is. It solidifies when cool (warm the bottle in warm water to re-liquify) and is best applied to damp skin after bathing. At $65 it is the priciest here, but the most indulgent.
Kiehl's Creme de Corps
Best body cream. Kiehl's Creme de Corps is a cult-classic rich body lotion with cocoa butter, shea butter and squalane that absorbs fast without grease, suits all skin types and is synthetic-fragrance-free. On sustainability, be realistic: it carries Amazon's Climate Pledge badge and Kiehl's runs a recycling program, but that is a moderate, responsible-big-brand story rather than a purist eco credential. If you want a proven, do-the-job body cream and are happy with good rather than maximal sustainability, this is it, and at $39 for 250ml it is the best value.
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
Best multi-use dry oil. NUXE's iconic Huile Prodigieuse is a vegan, fast-absorbing dry oil with seven botanical oils that works on face, body and hair, leaving a satin finish and a signature vanilla-magnolia scent. Honesty first: it is a lovely, French-made oil, but NUXE does not carry a meaningful third-party sustainability certification, so it is the least eco-credentialed pick here, included for its quality and multi-use value rather than a strong green claim. At around $29.50 it is the most affordable.
How to choose between them
- For the greenest choice, buy L'Occitane. It's the only B Corp here, and a body oil you'll repurchase often is exactly where whole-company sustainability counts.
- For pure indulgence, Elemis. The most luxurious oil, genuinely responsible (Climate Positive), just not a purist.
